Dr Alistair Duggie FRCA

Dr Duggie is a Consultant in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care at University Hospital North Durham, where he also leads safety in the Intensive Care unit and serves as Local Investigator for several international research studies. He qualified from Aberdeen University in 1999 and undertook further training in regional anaesthesia in New Zealand before his consultant appointment in Durham. His clinical interests span regional anaesthesia, pain medicine and paediatric anaesthesia. He has worked closely with Mr Ali-Khan throughout his career, and his presence at LASE reflects a longstanding professional relationship built on shared standards of patient care.

Theatre Manager

Yvonne

Yvonne brings 48 years of nursing experience to her role, with the last 27 spent entirely within plastic surgery theatres. She has been Theatre Manager at LASE Cosmetic since the clinic opened in 2019 and played a central part in establishing the theatre services from the ground up. Her contribution to LASE has been recognised in a meaningful way: the theatre suite now bears her name, known within the clinic as ‘The Brivonne Theatre Suite’ as both she and her husband, Brian, were our original operating theatre team and ‘Brivonne’ is the collective name that has been used by the theatre team for them for many years. Her dedication and operational expertise set the standard for every procedure that takes place within it.

Justine

Justine has over 30 years of theatre nursing experience, with deep roots in plastic surgery. Her career spans reconstructive and cosmetic theatres at Newcastle General Hospital, a Sister post in Plastic Surgery at University Hospital of North Durham, and a clinical specialist role providing education and support to theatre teams across the North of England. Plastic surgery theatre work is where she began her career and it is where she has chosen to return. She now brings that full breadth of experience to the LASE team.

Office Administrator

Toni

Toni joined LASE with a background in the aesthetics and beauty industry and quickly distinguished herself through her organisational ability and attention to the day-to-day running of the clinic. She has developed into an assistant manager role and is often the first point of contact for patients - ensuring their experience at LASE is smooth, well-managed and reflective of the standards the clinic holds itself to at every level.

Theatre Co-Ordinator

Diane

Dianne has 15 years of NHS experience spanning surgical waiting lists, theatre co-ordination and five years in an anaesthetic department managing rotas and clinics. Her time working alongside Mr Ali-Khan in the NHS was the foundation for her move to LASE, where she applies the same meticulous approach to organising each patient's theatre day. Her focus on detail and personalised coordination means that from the moment a procedure is booked, every aspect of a patient's experience is handled with care and precision.

CQC Regulatory Officer

Amy

Amy brings a strong background in private practice, where she built her skills in administrative support with a focus on efficiency, confidentiality, and getting the small details right. That grounding is what led her into her role as CQC regulatory officer at LASE, where she oversees the clinic's compliance against the standards set by the CQC. Her calm, proactive approach means the practical side of running a regulated clinic never gets in the way of the patient experience, and every visitor to LASE is met with the same friendly, warm welcome.

Patient Liaison

Christine

Chris brings 20 years of NHS experience as a quality systems manager, followed by a client-facing role within retail, giving her a sharp eye for high standards and what genuinely positive patient experiences look like in practice. Her focus has always been on continual improvement and building trust through the details, which is why she stays closely engaged with the latest developments across both non-surgical and surgical aesthetics. That knowledge means every patient she meets is supported by someone who's equipped to help.

I’d had the condición for over 2 years and tried all there was to try to stop the sweating; however nothing worked. I had a tummy tuck about 6 month ago, performed by Mr Ali-Khan. From the first consultation, I knew that I would be in safe hands. He was very clear about the procedure, explained all of the risks and was very realistic about the results I should expect. I didn't feel pressure at all to go ahead with the surgery, in fact, quite the opposite.... Mr Ali-Khan was more concerned about making sure that I knew I was making the right decision, which was quite comforting. The result from the surgery is exactly what I expected and more. I took 2 weeks off work and expected to be stuck in bed for the first week, but I was actually walking around from day 2/3 and was back to work after 1 week! The most pain actually seemed to come from the muscle repair, which felt like I'd done a really intense core workout but, it was worth it! The aftercare was brilliant! I had a slight infection in my belly button, which was unrelated to my surgery (it was a yeast infection which I used to get now and again before my tummy tuck), I messaged Mr Ali-Khan out of hours, to ask his advice, and his response was very helpful and thorough (as was the response from the Spire staff... waiting back after their shift had ended for me to go in and get checked out and get a prescription!) and he arranged an appointment for me to get checked out at his next clinic to make sure everything was OK! It was! 🙂 I am so happy with the results. I chose to go with Mr Ali-Khan from LASE because he absolutely filled me with confidence and made me feel in safe hands. I would definitely recommend him! All surgery comes with risks, and this procedure is pretty major; therefore you need the reassurance that if anything does go wrong, you're in the right hands! I have now fully recovered from my labiaplasty, which was performed by Mr Ali-Khan at LASE Cosmetic. I am so happy to share my delight with the results of my surgery and my treatment throughout the whole process. I approached the consultation for the procedure cautiously. Throughout the consultation I was made to feel very comfortable and well informed about what the procedure would and could entail and any risks associated with surgery. Mr Ali-Khan addressed all my queries and concerns. There was no pressure to proceed with surgery, but following a detailed consultation and personal research, I decided to go ahead. On the day of surgery, I was made to feel extremely comfortable by Mr Ali-Khan and all the staff at LASE. I chose to have only local anaesthetic, which was quite daunting on the day of surgery. However, the relaxed yet professional environment made me feel calm and as though I was in very safe hands. The results of my labiaplasty are better than I could have imagined. I had originally been deterred from the procedure as I thought recovery would be very painful, however there was very little pain post-surgery. I returned to a normal routine after all my stitches had dissolved after only 4 weeks. 3 months on the procedure, surgery and recovery seem like a distant memory. I would highly recommend the procedure with Mr Ali-Khan and the team to anyone who has been thinking about having this procedure for a while and who is holding back due to nervousness about recovery. I cannot recommend the practice, its staff and the patient treatment and care more, and I would 100% return to LASE if I were to have any procedures done in future.

I could not recommend LASE more, what an amazing team. I had a breast augmentation back in October with Mr Ali-Khan. I first decided to have a consultation in July after years of going back and forth, as I was so terrified of going under general anaesthetic. From the first appointment the reception staff made me feel so at ease when I was very nervous, then after going in to see Mr Ali-Khan, I knew he was the surgeon for me. He advised me when choosing my implants, size and projection when I was so undecided and they are perfect for my body shape/height. I described fully the look I wanted to go for, and he listened, and they are exactly what I asked for. The day of my surgery was actually enjoyable after being so scared, I would honestly do it all again tomorrow. The whole team made me feel so relaxed from start to finish, I was laughing before and after my surgery. The aftercare was amazing, and I have just had my final appointment to be discharged. Mr Ali-Khan reassured me that even though I have been discharged, if I ever have any problems or worries, I am welcome to come straight back to see him. I am over the moon with my results and am constantly being complimented on how they look. They have changed my life. The only thing I regret is not doing this sooner. What a fantastic experience from the moment I walked in to the moment I left – I was genuinely impressed throughout. Dr Fergal Marlborough operated on my right ear, removing the cancer and taking a skin graft from a crease near my ear so to be not noticeable. What a fantastic job he made on my ear, brilliant. While the operation was been performed, a nurse was holding my hand to help me feel more relaxed. When I returned to the hospital for after-care treatment, the nurse was very polite, caring and professional. I felt in good hands throughout the whole process. The whole team were brilliant.

I had a breast augmentation yesterday with LASE Cosmetic — something I’ve wanted since my early twenties. I was always a small A cup, and after recently losing a few stone, I dropped to a AA. Even though I felt good about how I looked overall, having such a small chest was really starting to affect my confidence. Mr Ali-Khan was my surgeon, and honestly — what a guy. I had an upper eye blepharoplasty 8 days ago, with Mr Ali-Khan. It was almost pain-free. I honestly didn’t feel a thing, even the local anaesthetic into my lids wasn’t bad. He called me the next morning to check I was ok, despite it being Easter holidays. Recovery team were brilliant & having the stitch removed was an easy relaxed procedure. I wish I’d done this years ago. The results are so subtle yet amazing.
