Liposculpture
Sometimes there are parts of the body that could do with more fullness, to fill a hollow or redefine a natural curve. What better or safer material to use than your own tissue? We offer liposculpture as a method of body contouring surgery that uses your own fat cells to provide volume to areas missing it.
Liposculpture is a form of surgical body contouring that reshapes the body using your own fat, rather than implants or synthetic materials. The procedure involves removing fat from areas where it is less wanted and transferring it to areas where additional volume may help restore balance or improve contour.
What liposculpture involves
Liposculpture combines two stages:
- Fat removal – Fat is carefully taken from selected areas of the body using liposuction techniques.
- Fat transfer – The harvested fat is processed and then reintroduced into areas requiring added volume.
As this procedure uses your own fat, there’s no need for implants or other foreign materials. The goal is to give you natural-looking volume that complements your body and keeps everything in balance.
Areas that may benefit from fat transfer
Liposculpture can be used in a targeted way or as part of a more comprehensive body reshaping plan. Areas commonly considered include:
- Breasts
- Hips
- Buttocks
- Areas of contour irregularity or hollowing
In some cases, liposculpture may be performed as a full-body contouring procedure, combining fat removal and redistribution across multiple areas.
Liposculpture vs Implants
Some patients choose liposculpture specifically to avoid the use of implants or other foreign materials. Using the body’s own tissue can be appealing for those seeking subtle, natural changes in volume and shape.
It is important to note that fat transfer outcomes depend on individual anatomy, fat availability, and how well transferred fat survives over time. These factors are discussed in detail during consultation.
Combining liposculpture with liposuction
Liposculpture may be offered as a standalone procedure or alongside liposuction as part of a broader body contouring strategy. In these cases, liposuction serves both to reduce volume in one area and to provide fat for transfer elsewhere.
Assessment and planning
A consultation allows for a detailed assessment of donor areas, target areas, and overall suitability for liposculpture. The discussion focuses on what the procedure can realistically achieve, how it fits into a wider treatment plan, and whether alternative options should be considered.
All recommendations are clearly explained, allowing patients to make informed decisions at their own pace.

Frequently Asked Questions
Making the decision to undergo surgical procedures can be a difficult one, and there are many questions you may have. Please read the frequently asked questions below which may answer any queries or ease any concerns you may have.
This type of liposculpture fat transfer is suitable for men and women aged over 18 who are healthy and are looking to subtly contour and reshape the body and / or improve volume. It is not a weight loss solution and cannot be used in place of a healthy diet and exercise to maintain your body.
Before undergoing fat transfer surgery you’ll have a consultation with your plastic surgeon. They will talk you through what liposculpture or fat reduction surgery can offer, as well as any risks or complications you should be aware of.
During liposculpture procedures fat is taken from one area of the body and injected in another – this may be the body or the face. It’s common for the fat to be taken from areas where fat is stored more commonly, like the abdomen.
Treatment times vary between patients and it largely depends on the part of the body being treated and how much fat needs to be taken. Some patients also combine liposculpture with other body contouring procedures including tummy tucks and liposuction.
Often this is a daycase procedure but in some cases an overnight stay is needed. Some swelling and bruising is normal but painkillers can be given to manage any discomfort.
Generally, patients take around 4-6 weeks to recover initially but this varies patient to patient. The swelling and bruising can last for some weeks after this, and it’s good to be prepared for that. You will also be given aftercare with regards to how to ensure the new fat cells remain alive.
Results cannot be guaranteed on liposculpture fat transfer, so it’s important to be mindful of your expectations and take any advice offered with regards to preparing for the procedure and the aftercare that’s also needed.
