Mr Fergal Marlborough is a Newcastle-based consultant with over 14 years of experience across the full range of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. He qualified from Edinburgh Medical School, completed his junior training there, and then moved into plastic surgery training in the North East before undertaking an international fellowship in Western Australia - an experience that broadened both his surgical repertoire and his clinical perspective.
In his NHS practice, Mr Fergal Marlborough operates across skin cancer, head and neck cancer and complex reconstructive cases, which means his cosmetic patients benefit from a surgeon who is active across the full breadth of the speciality. He is known for being direct and honest with patients about what surgery can and cannot achieve, a quality that, in an industry often prone to overselling, patients find refreshing and reassuring.

Before any surgery, we will arrange a consultation at the LASE Cosmetic hospital in Jesmond, Newcastle. You will have the opportunity to discuss the various types of surgery for breast augmentation, as well as alternatives such as breast uplift surgery. An expert surgeon will also make you aware of:
- What will happen during the surgery.
- The anaesthetic that will be administered.
- Any tests they deem necessary before the surgery.
- Possible risk factors and complications for you.
This consultation will explain what preparations you will need to make prior to the surgery and what to be aware of. For instance, breast augmentation under light anaesthetic will have specific recommendations pre and post-operation. Preparations will also vary based on your medical history and current health.
In many cases, yes. During your consultation, we can discuss whether combining treatments may help you achieve your goals safely and effectively, either at the same time or as part of a longer-term plan.
Usually, this depends on which neck lift surgery procedure you have undergone, but most of our patients report the results of their neck lift to be long-lasting. It can’t prevent the skin from ageing, but patients who have had neck lift surgery will likely look more youthful in this area for longer than someone of the same age who have not had surgery.
A mini facelift is a less extensive procedure than a traditional facelift, with smaller scars, less tissue dissection, and often shorter recovery time. It can sometimes be done under local anaesthetic as a day-case procedure. It’s typically best suited to younger patients with early signs of ageing or older patients with mild changes.
Yes. Aftercare is an essential part of surgical treatment at LASE. We provide planned post-operative reviews and remain available to support you as you heal. Care continues well beyond the procedure itself.
